Niagara Falls Throws Red Carpet for Cheer Family Winners
First Cheer Family Winners enjoy a weekend full of magic and excitement in Niagara Falls, Canada
Friday, May 10, 2013 (Niagara Falls, Ontario) -- They leaped, they clapped, they cheered for a chance to win! Families from across North America put their best foot forward in the hopes to win the first Niagara’s Cheer Family contest, presented by Cheer Evolution Canadian Cheer & Dance Championships and the Scotiabank Convention Centre, in Niagara Falls (SCCN).
Selected from hundreds of entries, the Hogan Family from Wolfe Island, Ontario was chosen as this year’s winner for their efforts in producing a fun and energetic video that captured the dedication, character building, enthusiasm, and strength of spirit that is associated with this dynamic sport.
During a short presentation ceremony, the Hogan family was presented a deluxe Niagara Falls family package, which included: passes to many of Niagara’s exciting parks, gift certificates to restaurants, a special tour of Niagara Falls on a chauffeured convertible BMW, and a once in a lifetime opportunity to light the majestic Horseshoe Falls.
With the promise of its return, there has been a buzz and excitement in the air throughout the city and especially for many of the hotels, restaurants and local businesses that have played a part in welcoming the attendees and their families to Niagara Falls. As part of a ‘Show the Love’ initiative with the Fallsview BIA and the SCCN, countless number of welcome buttons, banners, and flyers have gone up throughout the city to show visitors that Niagara Falls knows how to welcome back good friends.
“We understand the pressure and intensity an event like this may bring to athletes, but we wanted to remind them that this event is all about sharing joy and new experiences with families while creating lasting memories in Niagara,” said Kerry Painter, SCCN President & General Manager.
Prior to the prize award ceremony, the Hogan family enjoyed a special chauffeured ride on a BMW convertible while taking in Niagara Falls’ abundant beauty. No rain for their parade as it had been forecasted: bright and sunny skies over Niagara Falls greeted them as they viewed a number of colourful and exciting Niagara Falls attractions, including of course: the famous thundering Falls, luscious green landscapes and lively family sites and attractions featured on Clifton Hill. The forecast for the rest of the weekend? … The Hogan family can certainly expect: fun, smiles and sunshine, made possible by the many businesses who participated in welcoming our family from Wolfe Island, Ontario.
